RoofPayback is free to use and has no paywall. These are the ways the site can earn money. Each one is labeled where it appears.
Advertising
We show ads from Google AdSense. Ads are labeled, and we avoid full-screen and pop-up formats. Advertisers do not choose our topics and never see or change our calculations.
Affiliate links
Some articles link to product categories on Amazon. As an Amazon Associate, RoofPayback earns from qualifying purchases. You pay the same price. We only describe what a type of product does; we do not publish prices, ratings or claims we cannot verify.
Installer quotes
On some solar pages we may link to a partner where you can compare quotes from installers. It is always optional: we never ask for your phone number, and you decide whether to share your details with the partner. We may earn a commission if you use it. Our payback estimates are the same whether you click or not.
Newsletter
If you subscribe, we send new articles and the monthly electricity price update. We do not sell your email address.
What never changes
- Every number comes from public data (PVWatts, the U.S. EIA) or an official source we cite.
- No partner pays to change a result, a ranking or an article.
